VR has a wide range of customers

• VR’s main customer groups in rail passenger services are commuters and business travellers, students and families. Long-distance services account for most passenger-kilometres travelled by rail, whereas commuter services in the Helsinki metropolitan area account for the largest number of passenger journeys on trains in Finland.

• The customers of the Pohjolan Liikenne are coach and bus passengers on regular and express long-distance routes and commuter passengers on chartered service in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

• The customers of VR Cargo and Transpoint Cargo are Finnish and international companies in the forest, metal and chemical industries. Forwarding agents and other logistics sector businesses are other important customer groups for VR.

• VR-Track’s customers include the Finnish government, municipalities, ports, companies using railway services, and other track maintenance main contractors. The company’s largest customer is the Finnish Rail Administration.
