VR’s personnel have a wide range of employee benefits.

• The healthcare provided by VR includes more extensive treatment and diagnostic services than average.

• VR has an agreement with a national health club chain, and employees can also keep fit at events arranged by VR Urheilu ry, VR’s sports club.

• Personnel can participate in sports and hobbies clubs supported by VR.

• Personnel receive discounts for many swimming pools, sports institutes and holiday accommodation.

• Employees can also travel free on Finnish trains.

Support in reconciling work and family life

VR supports employees in reconciling working time and family life, for instance by trying to take employees’ wishes into account when planning work rosters.

Almost 800 employees took family leave during 2008, 90 people took job alternation leave and about 40 study leave.
