Preventive measures

VR has taken many steps to improve safety at work.

• VR introduced an occupational health and safety management system in 2008.

• Occupational safety reporting has become an established, integral part of the work of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management.

• Improvements have been made in analyzing and investigating accidents at work.

• Even higher priority has been given to preventive activities.

• VR has taken steps to increase the reporting of hazards, and during spring 2009 arranged a campaign to promote the use of hazard reports. VR is increasing the use of occupational safety briefings.

• VR Group has introduced observation rounds using the MVR and ELMERI+ systems to assess occupational safety.
