Antti Tiitola appointed Senior Vice President, Passenger Services of VR Group

Antti Tiitola (44) has been appointed Senior Vice President, Passenger Services of VR Group from 1 April 2012. He starts at VR on 1 January 2012.

Tiitola has previously worked as Managing Director of Lidl Finland. The current Senior Vice President, Passenger Services Antti Jaatinen turns 63 and will retire as planned during the summer. – Antti Jaatinen has made a long and distinguished career at VR Group. His latest accomplishment is the implementation of the first phase of the big passenger services ticket reform, VR Group's President and CEO Mikael Aro says.

– Antti Tiitola has strong experience in building and leading a service organization. We need this kind of expertise to meet the challenges of the future, Mikael Aro says. VR Group's Passenger Services operates rail passenger services and Pohjolan Liikenne's bus services. VR Passenger Services also includes Avecra Oy providing train and station catering services. Over a third of VR Group net sales, i.e. €500m comes from passenger traffic and approximately a fifth of Group staff, i.e. around 2 400 persons work in tasks connected to passenger traffic. VR Group is a versatile, environmentally friendly and responsible travel, logistics and infrastructure construction service company. VR Group provides employment for 12 000 professionals in Finland and ten European countries.
