Tatu Tuominen appointed VR Group’s Senior Vice President, Communications

Tatu Tuominen, 48, M.Pol.Sc, has been appointed VR Group’s Senior Vice President, Communications. He will take up his new position on 15 January 2018. Since 2011, Tuominen has worked as Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Telia. Before that, he worked at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Communications, for instance.

“Tatu Tuominen is an experienced communications and corporate relations professional who knows the world of state-owned companies, transport and communications. I am very pleased to have him strengthening our management team further,” says Rolf Jansson, President and CEO. “At the same time, I would like to thank Otto Lehtipuu for his good work at VR and wish him good luck in his new position.

Otto Lehtipuu, Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations and the Environment, will take up the position of the Managing Director for the Finnish environmental industry organisation Ympäristöteollisuus ja -palvelut ry. He will leave VR Group on 10 November 2017.

Mika Heijari, Director of Media Relations, was appointed the acting Senior Vice President, Communications until Tatu Tuominen starts working in this position.
