VR appoints Markku Pirskanen as Chief Financial Officer and member of the leadership team
VR Group appoints Markku Pirskanen (M.Sc.) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a member of the leadership team. Pirskanen will take up the position on 1 January 2024 and report to CEO Elisa Markula.
Pirskanen will be responsible for the finance operations of the company, including internal and external reporting, business performance management, and investments. He will also be accountable for financing, ICT, and real estate.
Markku Pirskanen has long and versatile experience in financial management and administration in the retail sector and software industry. Pirskanen will join VR Group from Manna & Co, where he holds a position as Chief Financial Officer. Pirskanen has earlier experience from similar roles in Woodly, Tokmanni, Hartela Group, Martela, Finlayson, and in the ICT industry from Comptel and F-Secure among others.
