Inside information: VR-Group's Contract Award Decision concerning Electric Multiple Unit Trains 

VR-Group Plc (“VR Group”) has today 24 October 2022 made its procurement decision in its public procurement regarding electric multiple unit trains (later “EMUs”). According to the procurement decision the contract is awarded to Stadler Bussnang AG. 

The object of the procurement is 20 EMUs, spare parts, special tools, training and documentation related to EMUs as described in detail in the procurement’s final invitation to tender. In addition, the procurement includes options to purchase additional 50 EMUs and maintenance services for EMUs as described in detail in the final invitation to tender. 

The procurement decision may be appealed within an appeal period of fourteen (14) days. The contract may be concluded at the earliest after the end of the appeal period. 

The procurement is a public procurement that exceeds the EU threshold. VR Group estimates that the value of the procurement without options is approximately 250 million euros.
