Rail traffic maintenance company VR FleetCare offers its customers fleet maintenance services. Services include equipment maintenance, modernisation projects, component services, lifecycle management and digital services. VR FleetCare is a subsidiary of VR Group.
Customers include VR Group's various businesses and other operators in the Nordic and Baltic region, such as Helsinki City Transport (HKL), Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL), AS Eesti Liinirongid (Elron) and Vy Tog AS. The company maintains a total of more than one hundred different types of rolling stock units, including freight and passenger cars, track vehicles, locomotives, and subways.
Versatile rolling stock expertise is the result of almost 160 years of experience in rolling stock maintenance. In addition to operational maintenance and modernization projects, the company’s focus is strongly on the future; the service offering is constantly evolving through the utilization of technology and new data- and analytics-based solutions.
Operations are guided by safety, cost-effectiveness, and quality. The priority is that the customers' equipment travels safely on tracks for as long as possible. Comprehensive maintenance and development of rolling stock is provided through four service categories. ModernCare services include work related to fleet lifecycle extensions, modernisations, and system upgrades. SmartCare digital services are used to develop condition monitoring and the optimisation of equipment and infrastructure maintenance. AssetCare services provide fleet lifecycle management, maintenance, and consulting. In addition to these equipment projects, ComponentCare services maintain more than 2,000 component items and seeks solutions to extend component life.
VR FleetCare employs more than 1,000 people and has an annual turnover of approximately 200 million EUR. The service network consists of ten offices throughout Finland.
